Welcome to my Garden

Aren't flowers just so beautiful? Something about them can make an entire room feel fresh and inviting. They are such a display of God's craftsmanship.

Imagine the Garden of Eden, so full of beauty and life. Imagine living in a place where beauty and peace are constant. Doesn't that sound so nice?

That was God's intention, a beautiful place and a peaceful life, constantly. As we all know that privilege was lost shortly after it began. But what if we have the opportunity to live in our own gardens? What if our homes, our marriages, our children, what if they are all pieces of our very own garden? As if God has allowed us each a chance to taste the garden of Eden through the lives He has given us...

I once did a bible study about motherhood called, "A Beautiful Mess." In the study the author makes a statement about our homes being our garden and from then that is how I have seen it. I see it as a God given garden that needs to be carefully and gracefully handled. My husband, my children, my home, my identity, all individual flowers in one big beautiful garden. When I look at it this way I have a a new zeal and joy that makes me eager to see my garden thrive. Yes thrive, I think I'll try that.

Thrive- to prosper, flourish

I want to flourish in my home. I am a wife, a mother, a writer, and a woman of purpose. This is my garden and I want to see it thrive. Something happens when we allow The Lord to shift our perspective. When we can see this life, this work, and this season as a God given gift then we will be eager to see it thrive. For some women it isn't marriage and children, but work or ministry, maybe even relationships that glorify The Lord.
I want to water and pour in to every piece of my garden. I will honor and respect my husband so that he may thrive. I will love and encourage my children so that they may thrive. I will pursue the things I love, like fashion, teaching, and writing, so that I may thrive. Most importantly, I will give God all the glory and remain in His presence so that this may all be possible.

Just as any beautiful garden, this will take work, but it will be worth it. Seeing the beauty of my garden flourish as I press into God's grace and  live under His mercy, oh it will be so worth it. That is what this blog is about...

So welcome to my blog, I invite you in. Through God's grace, guidance, and love, this little garden will flourish and prosper beautifully.

With Love, Jalyssa
